Identity – Art Inspired By The Great Lakes; June 4, 2014

“The building has been photographed countless times but as a news photojournalist by trade I wanted to capture a glimpse of the people in the ever-changing environment around it. This project was my way of capturing a year in the life of this famous structure.”

Beach Metro – Beach Arts Scene; February 20, 2014

“…the existing imagery on the website makes for a fascinating amateur study in place and light. “It takes dedication. I go in the early morning or late at night. It doesn’t matter. Now, I’m basically addicted to it,” said Pedersen, who admitted it was tough to bundle up and head down on recent harsh winter days.

“This project has forced me to get out, meet people and learn about my community.”

OCAD InStudio – Waters of Life and Art

“The sense of connection to and identification with the lakes is vivid, for example, in Laura Pedersen’s The Leuty Project, which combines photographs of the same Lake Ontario view she took each day for a year and shared on social media.”
